WOMAN FOUNDED. WOMAN LED.
I have always loved decorating, so my mom phoned me and said, “Are you in?” when we noticed that the Country SamplerTM store in Appleton was for sale. “You bet!” I exclaimed. Thus, the opulent Farmhouse Store came to be. I had three active, young children and was a stay-at-home parent at the time. Those were amazing, chaotic times!
After a number of years, my parents left the farm to work—my father at Pierce Manufacturing, where he manufactured fire vehicles, and my mother at a Lutheran insurance firm. We still lived on the property. After completing my education, I got married, had two sons, and a daughter.

What is Farmhouse Style?
Modern, industrial, retro, and rustic influences are all combined in farmhouse décor. The goal of the decor is to create a character-filled, peaceful, and comfortable room that exudes charm. More emphasis is placed on being in sync with nature in farmhouse décor. For example, a natural wood accent is a necessity for any type of farmhouse décor.
Farmhouse Home Decor Themes
Farmhouse design ideas often feature themes such as vintage, rustic, country, and shabby chic. Weathered wood and hues like white, grey, beige, light brown, and dark brown are typical elements of these styles.
Vintage Farmhouse Decor
While it is not necessary to furnish your entire space with vintage items, adding a few vintage accents can make a big difference. For example, a vintage table, bed, or sofa can be used with an antique or vintage farmhouse chair. You may also add vintage lighting to your space to give it personality. Additionally, it is a good idea to pair vintage pieces with soothing, neutral colors. This is due to the fact that colors have an excessive amount of energy and can enhance and add to the décor of a house with a vintage theme. It is common to utilize colors like cream, faded blue, light brown, gray, and beige.
Rustic Farmhouse Decor
The emphasis of this design is on organic beauty and toughness. Rustic design can create a harmonious and flexible style that can fit almost any environment because of the prominent use of natural wood. There is also the contemporary rustic motif to take into consideration for people who might perceive rustic to be more conventional, heavy, and dark. This one seems more genuine, grounded, delicate, and new. A rustic setting lets the outside come inside. Architectural and décor items are constructed from natural raw materials. Rustic design, when done right, may give a house a unified and visually pleasing motif. It also takes durability and usefulness into account.
Country Farmhouse Decor
This has old textiles, milk-paint finishes, primitive furniture, and gentle, muted hues. The style differs according on the location. Making the house feel cozy and welcoming is the main goal here. Weathered or salvaged wood are among the materials that are frequently employed. Contemporary aspects can be incorporated without making things seem stuffy and antiquated. Natural colors and tones, including light and dark brown, fit in nicely with designs with a country feel. Flooring, furniture, and lighting fixtures can all be designed with the same concept. The motif can also be emphasized with straightforward accessories.
Farmhouse Shabby Chic Decor
Shabby chic, also referred to as cottage style, is reminiscent of French rural style. It is a highly amiable, cozy, and understanding decor style. The layout is clean and uncomplicated. It can consist of materials like linen and wicker that have been weaved, aged, and worn out. When combined with novel and innovative components, the shabby chic style is sure to draw attention. Pale entryway frames, worn barn doors, woven baskets, wooden windows, elaborate lighting and furnishings, and more can all be a part of it.
In Summary
If you love the rustic charm of bygone eras, farmhouse décor is the way to go. To create a unique and personalized décor style, it all comes down to striking a balance between a few modern and vintage components. Shabby chic, vintage, rustic, and rural are prominent themes in farmhouse design. Light and dark brown, beige, white, faded blue, and grey are among the most popular colors.
